Maladechna human rights defender Eduard Balanchuk, who is officially registered as observer at local constituency No. 72, says he has been denied access to information on an unidentified candidate who reportedly submitted his application to register an initiative group.

According to the Belarusian Helsinki Committee representative, election commission secretary Mrs. Liudmila Miastouskaya ordered not to disclose any information to the observer. Mr. Balanchuk also claims commissioner Mrs. Larysa Kastusik failed to present any papers confirming the receipt of the candidate’s application.
