Court refuses to hear BPF party's complaints

The Hrodna regional court refused to hear complaints lodged by the BPF party regarding formation of constituency election commissions.

BelaPAN news agency learned this from party's press secretary Natallya Motus.

According to her, nine complains over non-inclusion of party's representatives in election commissions were lodged to the Hrodna regional court on July 11. “Vadzim Saranchukou, the head of the Hrodna regional branch of the BPF party, visited the court today. The court refused to hear the complaints. They say the documents were signed by an unauthorized person,” Motus says.

“Saranchukou was given the right to represent party's interests in court by a decision of BPF Soim (Council) on June 23, 2012. The decision of the council was attached to the complaint, but the court did not take it into account,” the party's representative noted.

She reminded none of nine BPF activists, who applied for membership in constituency election commissions, was included in the commissions in the Hrodna region.

Motus said similar complaints by the BPF party would be heard by the Mahilou and Minsk regional courts on July 16. “The party is expected to receive a written decision of the Minks City Court, which heard similar complaints on July 13. Our representatives did not attend trials, because court's official reply was received only today,” Motus said.

We remind the BPF party filed 30 complaints over the refusal to include party members in election commissions. Nine complaints were filed to the Mahilou regional court, seven – to the Minsk city court, five to the Minsk regional court and nine to the Hrodna regional court.

The BPF party and public organization BPF Revival nominated 57 persons to constituency election commissions across Belarus, but only 12 of them became commission members.
