Human rights defender Leanid Markhotka has not yet received a reply to his appeal of 16 July suggesting introducing changes to election campaigning restrictions imposed by the executive authorities of the town of Salihorsk.

Meanwhile, Art. 491 of the Electoral Code states that election commissions and government bodies should consider an appeal within a three-day’s time.

Leanid Markhotka says the delay is an outrage against the electoral legislation and is expected to appeal the violation by officials of Salihorsk executive committee.
