A representative of the Belarusian Helsinki Committee Vasil Berasneu applied to the Central Election Commission and the Orsha procuracy against the events taking place at Dniaprouskaya election constituency #27 in Orsha.

The head of the Orsha District Executive Committee Uladzimir Dzedushkin is a prospective candidate at this constituency. He has already got his team registered with the constituency election commission. As it was found, the head of the team passed sheets with signatures in support of the nomination of Dzedushkin's candidacy for the election, to the head of the organizational and personnel department of the Orhsa DEC, Tatsiana Valodkina, who then passes them to the constituency election commission.


The human rights defender considers it as a gross violation of Part 8 of Article 61 of the Electoral Code of the Republic of Belarus which prohibits the participation of executive authorities in canvassing.
