Orsha court turns down appeals against non-inclusion of people in precinct election commissions
The court of Orsha and the Orsha district turned
down the appeal of the Vitsebsk regional organization of the Belarusian Leftist
Party “Fair World” against the non-inclusion of its members in the precinct
election commissions of Orsha.
The trial was led by Judge Natallia Arkhipava in presence of assistant
prosecutor Viktoryia Korsak.
As stated in the appeal, ten nominees of the “Fair World” weren't included in
the precinct commissions without explanation of the reasons. The criteria for
the choice of members to PECs remain unknown.
The court dismissed the appeal. According to the court ruling, “the arguments
which were indicated in the appeal and drawn by the plaintiff's representative
at the court hearing are not sufficient to grant the appeal, as far as the law
provides no criteria for the inclusion or non-inclusion of representatives to
precinct election commissions”.
A similar verdict was issued by this court concerning the appeal of the
Vitsebsk regional organization of the “Fair World” against Orsha District
Executive Committee, which had refused to include two representatives of the
party in the PECs of the Orsha district.
