As of 21 August, the Central Election Commission has registered 110 international observers, including 73 representing the CIS observation mission and 33 – the OSCE’s ODIHR.

Apart from that, the CEC has registered 991 national observers. The majority of them are representatives of pro-government NGOs: the Belaya Rus movement, the National Youth Union (BRSM) and the Trade Unions Federation.

Only a dozen observers represent opposition political parties, with three members of the Social Democratic Party and one observer from the UCP and BPF each.
