Baranavichy activist appeals denial of registration in Supreme Court
Baranavichy pro-democratic activist Ryhor Hryk, who was denied registration as a candidate by constituency election commission No. 6, is appealing the decision at the Supreme Court.
Ryhor Hryk was denied registration on the ground that 18% of his supporters’ signatures were found invalid by the election commission. The potential candidate disagreed with the decision and appealed it at the Central Election Commission, submitting 29 statements by his supporters, confirming the validity of their signatures. However, the CEC upheld the decision by the Baranavichy election commission.
