Baranavichy police chief turns down observer’s complaint

Baranavichy observer Siarhei Housha has received a reply from the department of internal affairs of Brest regional executive committee following a complaint of biased and illegal consideration of election fraud charges by constituency election commission No. 5.

The letter signed by the department’s deputy chair Uhlianitsa says that the police have studied the results of inspections carried out following Siarhei Housha’s previous appeals. The reply then argues that the election fraud allegations provided by the observer failed to be confirmed. Therefore, the police chief denied prosecution of policemen of Baranavichy city department of internal affairs.

In his appeal, Siarhei Housha reported that employees of Baranavichy police department evaded investigating the incident of alleged rigging of an election record.
