The chief editor of the "Bobruyskiy Kuryer" newspaper Anatol Sanatsenka has finally received an answer to the appeal he had filed to the prosecutor's office more than a month ago.

The journalist complained about actions of the deputy head on ideology of the Barysau City Executive Committee Aliaksandr Markachou. On 14 September Mr. Sanatsenka was covering an officially allowed electoral picket as a journalist. The official first threatened him, and then proceeded to insults. Mr. Sanatsenka shot it on the video, a copy of which was attached to the appeal.

However, he received an answer not from the prosecutor's office, but from the police. There it is stated that "there are no traits of any law violations in the actions of the deputy head of the Barysau City Executive Committee Markachou A.V.".

"Judging by it all, the prosecutor's office got tired of struggling with my complaints and decided to aid in a good old Soviet way – to give them a runaround from one state agency to another," comments Anatol Sanatsenka. "One cannot expect any other answer from the police, as the Babruisk Main Police Department is just an organ of the executive vertical."
